    Shawna Williams, CEO

    Shawna’s passion for secure housing for all started when she served as an AmeriCorps NCCC Member with Habitat for Humanity in Montana over twenty years ago. As a life-long Kansan, Shawna’s career path lead her to housing case management to support people with mental illness prior to joining a local Kansas Habitat affiliate where she served in various roles including homebuyer support, program development and adminstration. In 2022, Shawna was chosen to lead the development of an Affiliate Support Organization (ASO) for Kansas, which highlights her commitment to ensuring our local organizations have the support and resources they need to be successful across the state.

    Erika Zimmerman, Board Chair

    Erika Zimmerman serves as the executive director for Lawrence Habitat for Humanity and the chair of the Habitat for Humanity Kansas Board of Directors. Before taking on the director role, she served in a variety of capacities for Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence including the Development Director and the Director of Grants.  Erika is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a B.S. degree in Sociology. Erika has always worked in the non-profit field. The early part of her career focused on child development, but working toward the goal of ensuring that everyone has a decent place to live is her true passion.  She got her start with Lawrence Habitat for Humanity by volunteering on the build site and then joined the Family Support committee, where she served as the committee chair, and a family partner.

  • Janice Watkins, Board Vice-Chair

    Janice Watkins serves as the CEO of Topeka Habitat for Humanity, and is the Vice-Chair of Habitat for Humanity Kansas. With more than a decade of non-profit service and management, she believes in the power of social change to impact community and service to foster pride and neighborhood revitalization. Janice is a 2017 YWCA Woman of Excellence Honoree, an honoree of Topeka's Top 20 Under 40 and serves on the Shawnee County Advocacy Council on Aging, the Affordable Housing Task Force, the Topeka Public Schools Construction Pathway Advisory Committee, the City of Topeka Housing and Equity Implementation Group and is the President of the Washburn University Women's Alliance.

    Ann Patterson, Board Secretary

    Making a difference in people’s lives is Ann Patterson’s major motivator. She has served Habitat for Humanity for over 20 years at the local, state and national level, and is currently serving as the Secretary for Habitat for Humanity Kansas and on HFHI’s U.S Council’s Advocacy Board. Ann served as President of the Wichita Habitat for Humanity Board for two years, and is currently serving an additional term as a board director.  Throughout her service Ann has seen Wichita progress from when the affiliate built four houses a year to now when the affiliate averages 15 new homes built, as well as a strong critical home repair program, and homebuyer education program.   Prior to retirement, Ann served as Director of Operations for Patterson Legal Group and also worked in policy analysis and research for the Kansas Department of Commerce which has helped me in my roles in advocacy for the state and locally.

    Fred Bohnenblust, Board Director

    Fred Bohnenblust has volunteered with McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity since 1993 and is currently a board member and treasurer. Fred and his wife Jackie are graduates of Kansas State University. After graduation they served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines before returning to McPherson. Fred retired after 37 years with Home State Bank, a local community bank, as lending vice president. Fred has served on community boards including McPherson YMCA, McPherson Optimist Club, McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation, McPherson Chamber of Commerce, McPherson High School Booster Club, Sunflower Chapter Red Cross, the McPherson Planning Commission and his church.

    Josh Brewer, Board Director

    Josh Brewer is the executive director of the Manhattan Area Habitat for Humanity, which he joined in 2020. Josh hopes that Habitat’s mission and values can motivate a cross-sectional social movement to design a more just and equitable housing system. In support of this work, Josh is pursuing a PhD in Leadership Communication at Kansas State University.

    Danielle Johnson, Board Director

    Danielle Johnson lives by the mantra think, speak, and act for yourself and your community. Danielle is the Executive Director of Wichita Habitat for Humanity, and the majority owner of Inclusive Growth Strategies a diversity, inclusion, and equity consulting business. She prides herself on being an affordable housing advocate, conversation catalyst, inclusion and diversity educator, community mobilizer, and super volunteer. Danielle is a product of USD 259 public schools, a two-time Wichita State University Shocker with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration. Danielle is no stranger to board, committee, and community service. Danielle loves honing her leadership skills and has taken courses with Advance Kansas Class VI, Kansas Leadership Center, Young Professionals of Wichita Leadership Academy, and Leadership Wichita.

    Abigail Perdue, Board Director

    Abigail Perdue is a board member of the Riverbend Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Atchison, Kansas. Abigail joined the Riverbend affiliate in 2019 as the Community Resource Development Director and became the Executive Director in 2020. While at the Riverbend affiliate, Abigail expanded the Home Preservation program to serve more low income homeowners with critical and minor home repairs, started a Tool Lending Library program, established an annual neighborhood revitalization weekend called the Extreme Neighborhood Makeover, and oversaw two home projects for two new homeowners. Currently, Abigail is the Executive Director for the Atchison Housing Authority and the Kansas Housing Resources Consortium.

    Eric Kirby, Board Director

    Eric Kirby has been involved with Habitat for Humanity for the past 14 years. He started out in the ReStore world serving at the Greater Des Moines affiliate before moving to Wichita to direct the ReStore there. Eric is the first Executive Director of the Emporia Area Habitat for Humanity and has served there for the past four years.
